| Buenos Dias (Good morning)! Como Estas (How are you)? Here is the little Spanish I know that gets me through about 80% of what I need to be polite and friendly here in this town. At this restaurant, the Pirate, I realized that my camera-phone needed a battery charge. The waitress here was kind enough to help me out with my issue. |

When we first got to the Pirate, it was not yet really mid-morning. We had been on the
water taxi for about an hour then walked here.
Across the way in front to the left is the island of Caremero, and to the right in the near distance is the island of Solarte. Way off in the distance is the island of Bastimentos where we will be going later this morning. |

We've ordered our breakfast. While we wait for it, I check out the starfish down in the
water below.
Our hosts told us that they would be here in a half an hour or so, so we got our food and began to eat. |

When they arrived, we all exchanged friendly greetings to one another. Then Kim Kapsar,
her son Kellum, and a visitor from the States named Steve who was looking to relocate
to Panama to work as a real estate agent sat down and ordered breakfast.
Dave and Guerby exhange light banter while standing near. Andrew and Jennifer sit and visit with Kellum, Kim and Steve. I think Alex was standing near me while I took this picture. |
| While waiting for the waitress to bring them their breakfast, it was great to meet each other and become new friends. |

After a while, Alex, Andrew and I started thinking it would be interesting to go and explore Bocas. A goal of ours was to look for hardware stores and maybe pick up a speargun to use later in the week for some dinner catch...

The airport at Bocas is not much to look at. I guess because its so minimal I found it kind of interesting. On the day we arrived at Bocas, we checked into our reservations for flying out. Actually flying out was an adventure, too...
