Gamboa is a township along the canal originally used to house workers who were hired
to build the canal. Except for a resort nearby, it appears to someone like me that
there are few other jobs anymore.
The Waanaun live in villages up on the Chagres river system starting a couple of miles away. Alex grew up here and attended this church. He still attends this church today with his family. In the photo to the right are three generations: Alex's mom, his wife, and daughter Abigail. |
